Can we create time-based policies in GajShield ?
TimeSet in GajShield allow administrators to define the time period for which various policies should be active, which include Firewall / Application Filtering / Data Leak Prevention / Intrusion Prevention / URL Filtering / QOS and Routing.
You can setup TimeSet in multiple ways in GajShield:
- One-Time - Continuous : From a start date and time to an end date and time. This rule will be applied all times between the two dates and time.
The above TimeSet (AllowOnce), is a one time schedule that will begin from 2nd September 2013 to 6th September 2013 for all times starting from 9 am on 2nd September 2013 to 6 pm on 6th September 2013. Policies, in which this TimeSet is used, will work only between the above dates and time.
- One Time - Daily : Rules will be applied only between start time and end time everyday, on each day from start date to end date.
The above TimeSet (OneTimeDailyHours) has the Daily - option selected, hence the rule will be applied every day from 2nd of September to 6th of September only between 9am to 6pm.
- Recurring - Continuous : Rules will be applied everyday from the start day and start time of the week to the end day of the week and end time selected. For example, if you wish to allow a rule every Monday and Tuesday from 9am on Monday till 6 pm on Tuesday, you need to do the following
Note: the Daily option is not selected and hence the rule is applied between all times from start day and start time of the week to end day and end time of the week.
- Recurring - Daily : Rules are applied every day from start time to end time for each day of the week selected.
The above TimeSet applies the Rule every day from 9 am to 6 pm for each day i.e. Monday to Friday.
Once the RuleSet is created, it can be applied to a Policy in the Time Schedule option of a Rule as shown below
