How to configure and utilise Sensitivity Labels within GajShield's Data Leak Prevention (DLP) policies

This document outlines the step-by-step process to configure and utilize Sensitivity Labels within GajShield's Data Leak Prevention (DLP) policies.

Overview

Sensitivity Labels help classify and protect sensitive content. When integrated into GajShield’s DLP system, they enable automatic policy enforcement based on content classification.

Step-by-Step Configuration

Assign Sensitivity Label to a File

Ensure that a sensitivity label is applied to the file you want to protect.

In this file, testfile.xlsx the sensitivity label is Highly Confidential.

Ensure that the DLP service is running , then go to DLP -> DLP Policies -> Sensitivity Labels to configure it.

This tab will have four fields :

  1. Sensitivity Label Name - The name of the label to perform action.
  2. Confidentiality Group - Select the group for the label
  3. Custom Confidentiality Group Value - This will be visible when we want to create a new group. When Confidentiality Group is Custom, we set the value of the group here.
  4. Description - The description for the label.

Now we will add this label to DLP Template, to block the file which contains the sensitivity label as "Highly Confidential"

Add this template to DLP Policy

Add this policy in rule for browsing and restart DLP service and restart ICAP

Now do browsing, and upload the file testfile.xlsx that contains the sensitivity label "Highly Confidential"

The file upload has been successfully blocked.

Similarly, we can use Sensitivity Label filter for other services like Web Mails and SMTP Mail.
